4 out of 5 serial murderers prefer Burger King's 1/4 lb. Double Cheeseburger

You don't see many ads these days with bound cheerleader corpses. I wonder if he fed her first?

Me, I would've used Leatherface over Ghostface. But then maybe a guy who eats human meat isn't the best guy to use to advertise for your hamburger franchise.

Yes that's a toy, I couldn't find an actual picture where his hand could be holding a cup.

This is Batmania, a compilation of songs inspired by current cartoon mayor Adam West's Batman TV series. Adam actually sings 3 of the tracks himself, you also get to hear Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin have a go at it. This, as you'd imagine, is essential listening for any and all Batmaniacs.

2. "The Story Of Batman" - Adam West
3. "The Capture" - Burgess Meredith
4. "Batman To The Rescue" - LaVern Baker

Creepshow - Now a Very Scary Graphic Novel

Here is the graphic novelization of George A. Romero's film Creepshow published by Penguin imprint Plume in July 1982, a month prior to the film's release. Written by one Stephen King, and illustrated by Bernie Wrightson with Michele Wrightson while the cover art is done by Jack Kamen. Special effects by Tom Savini.

Everyone visiting this site has seen Creepshow, so there's no real point in recapping the short stories contained within, but here you go anyway:
  • "Father's Day" - Will somebody please get this guy some fucking cake?
  • "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill" - Stephen King is Swamp Thing
  • "The Crate"
  • "Something to Tide You Over"
  • "They're Creeping Up on You"
I was a little upset that my favorite line of the movie "Meteor Shit!" is different here. "Meteorcrap!" just doesn't have the same ring to it. Still, this is worth a look if you're a fan of the film.

I drove out there with the remains of three human beings... well, two human beings and Wilma.

Phelpster's Custom Covers - Vintage 80's VHS Style

I haven't posted any of my custom covers lately, but I've certainly been making them. Especially now that I'm equipped with a Canon Pixma and can print these things out at will.

Lately I've been making DVD covers based on old VHS cover designs. Sort of a "What if Vestron or Cannon were making DVDs today while still using their old cover designs?" It's kind of a pointless thing to do, but I'm sure some of you VHS art adorers will understand what I'm trying to do here.

Day of the Maniac - This is actually for Sergio Martino's film All The Colors of the Dark, under a alternate title. The VHS was put out on the Super Video label, which I'm not familiar with, but I loved the logo and the lines at the top so I had to do something with it. I know this one is a bit less than simplistic with the grunge effect and the unusually large amount of stuff on the back but I really think this one came out solid.

Yog The Space Monster - aka Space Amoeba, the cover I used for this template was Vestron's release of a film called Truck Stop Women. I dropped the Truck Stop Women art (although I did make a DVD cover for that one as well), added an awesome Yog poster and decided to leave the VHS wear marks on there.

Street Trash - I believe VTC was a UK based label, but I'm not certain. This one looks accurate enough onscreen, however my printing of it didn't come out too hot, looks more brown than gold. I still think it's a pretty sharp looking design they used for their covers, although their clamshell design was a bit nicer looking.

Silent Scream - Media has one of my favorite VHS logo screens, probably due to some Elm Street films I wore out as a kid being put out by Media.

The fun thing about these is you can also see what they might've done with a current release:

Sesame Disco!

And here's the 1979 follow up to Sesame Street Fever. They call it Sesame Disco. Me, I would've gone with another disco reference, something like We Are Sesame perhaps. Rhymes with Family, it doesn't work on paper, but it makes sense if you're saying it out loud. Right? Who knows, maybe Sly and/or the Family Stone would've sued... But as simple a title as Sesame Disco is, it gets the job done. Wicked cool cover though.

Rumor has it Robin Gibb had creative differences with Grover while recording Sesame Street Fever, which is why he was not asked to appear on this album.

Side One
What Makes Music? - The Entire Cast
Me Lost Me Cookie at the Disco - Cookie Monster and the Girls
The Happiest Street in the World - Big Bird, the Kids and the Girls
Sing - The Girls
Side Two
Disco Frog - Kermit the Frog and the Girls
Doin' the Trash - Oscar the Grouch and the Girls
Bein' Green - Kermit the Frog and the Girls

Sesame Street Fever

Like Kermit D. Frog? Like disco? Here you go, the Grammy nominated album Sesame Street Fever. Six tracks of white hot disco action. Or something like that.

This album is goofy as all hell - as expected - but I will say Robin Gibb's track Trash is actually quite good as far as novelty children's disco goes.

Side One
Sesame Street Fever - Robin Gibb, The Count, Grover, Ernie & Cookie Monster
Doin' the Pigeon - Bert and the Girls
Rubber Duckie - Ernie and his Rubber Duckie

Side Two

Trash - Robin Gibb
C is for Cookie - Cookie Monster and the Girls
Has Anybody Seen My Dog? - Marty and Grover

Look for the creatively titled follow up Sesame Disco shortly. That's right, they made more than one of these

Corey Haim - December 23rd, 1971 - March 10th, 2010

"Actor Corey Haim, who starred in “Lost Boys,” has died of an apparent overdose. The actor, 38, had a long history of substance abuse and once told Larry King of CNN that he would be a lifelong “chronic relapser.” According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, Haim died at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank.

The actor collapsed at the apartment he shared with his mother, Judy, around 1:30 a.m. and she called the paramedics. It is said that he had not been feeling well in recent days, exhibiting flu-like symptoms. Four prescription drug bottles were found in the home."
